    fleet of Boeing 737-200s to serve the fall market cost-effectively.

    New, Daily Non-stop Service:
    Non-stop, Winnipeg-London service starts November 2nd, 2003 with special,
    introductory fares starting as low as $92.00 each way. Take advantage of these
    special fares by booking between October 2nd, 2003 and October 31st, 2003 for
    travel between November 2nd and November 30, 2003. Seven day advance purchase
    is required. Book early to take advantage of these super savings! In addition,
    the ZIP non-stop Calgary-London flights will be replaced by ZIP flights that
    connect or stop in Winnipeg.

    New Connecting Service - Effective November 2nd, 2003:
    The addition of new, daily non-stop service between Winnipeg and London,
    provides for convenient connecting service between Edmonton - London.
    Effective November 2nd, 2003, service from Winnipeg to Montreal will be
    operated by Air Canada. Effective October 14th 2003, the seasonal Edmonton -
    Victoria service will end.

  • They sure like to spin everything. The real release should read something like YEG-YYJ and YYC-YXU were an unmitigated disaster so we're gonna roll the dice on a few other city pairs.

    YYJ may be in more demand in summer but I don't think the WS sched changes much depending on season on this route. Zip just failed - simple as that. They never into any of these failed routes as seasonal when they start them do they?

    I thought AC was redeploying their 737's for them...to the boneyard.


  • Not too surprised YEG loses its YYJ service as it is a fairly seasonal route and I guess Zip!/AC figures they didn't want to compete with WJ in low season.

    In other words, Zip is pulling out of Montreal.

  • Yup. As I mentioned in another thread to Pointweasel last week, YXU/YYC was coming to an end. Loads on that flight was disaster. Let's see how much better they can do on YXU/YWG.
