Which would be the best cellphone?

  • I'm looking for something that can do emails, texting, and camera. Added features could include a mp3 player, qwerty keyboard, and web-browsing. I know this may be a stupid question or a waste of time on my part or anyone who may answer it, but I really want to hear from real people who have real experience. My focus is only on Altell products. I like the Glimmer, but the website tells me it doesn't do emails. Then, there's the Moto Q and the HTC (whatever that is...). These two are a tad bulky, but you can't overlook the cool features (They're smartphones, what did you expect?) I don't need to travel the world with this potential phone, nor do I need to fax something that badly. So, perhaps something a little sleeker. (Poor glimmer...)

  • Well I might be able to answer your question since I work for Alltel. The Glinner is a really cool phone, but you might have some trouble with it due to it being a touch screen. The HTC Touch is very similar in that you have to use a stylist to type (unless you have really small fingers) but it does use Windows Mobile. For the cost of the Glimmer you could always get a Blackberry Curve which has everything that you mention that you were looking for in a phone.

The main thing to keep in mind with Alltel is that if you get a smartphone you will need to switch to a Smart Choice rate plan. This is sometimes a deal breaker for some people, but if you really look at what all is included in the plans they often save money compared to regular rate plans with all the add-ons.

I have the Moto Q9c and it is a pretty good phone. It does not have a touch screen and runs Windows Mobile. The Blackberry is the more reliable phone with better battery life, better signal, and more durable. The biggest thing about it is that it is a little more complicated to learn. They used there own software and it takes time to get used to which is why Alltel gives you 30 days to try it out. A big plus to a Blackberry is all the free software available. Go to crackberry.com and see for yourself.

Hopefully somewhere in all this information you got an answer to your question.

P.S. Alltel is also getting the HTC Touch Diamond this year.

  • Nokia N-Series-----The BEST.

  • Perhaps T-mobile's G1? its got full keyboard, big touch screen as well. and also have quite good integration with google services, being much cheaper than iphone at the same time.

A more expensive alternative is E90, nokia's aging business commucator. Its also got the full keypad. and runs on symbian 3rd, meaning there are tons of business oriented apps.
