What can I do on New Years in Brooklyn?

  • I will be holidaying in New York City over Christmas however due to skyrocket prices, we are actually staying in Brooklyn on New Years Eve. Will it be better for us to attend a party in Brooklyn (if so - any ideas?) or go to a party in Manhattan and travel back to Brooklyn when finished? Id appreciate any ideas.

  • New Years is actually rarely any fun in NYC - whether in Manhattan or Brooklyn. My advice - find a good neighborhood pub and greet the New Year there. You don't say what part of Brooklyn you are staying in, or I could give recommendations. But the clubs and restaurants just jack prices up on New Years Eve - and it's never any good. Just keep it simple and you will have more fun. Dress up, hit the pub/bars and have fun.

    It is hard enough to get a cab to go to Brooklyn on an average night - on New Years it will be impossible. If you go to Manhattan take the train home.
