Web Browser Question

  • Hello, is there a program that will display the differences between IE, Netscape and Opera?
I don't want to install Netscape ever again and Opera messes up my settings. But I want to see if they work in these other browsers.
I was hoping someone, anyone knew of a program that will show "what it would look like in... (Netscape, Opera or IE)"
If anyone has any comments on this, please feel free.

  • Opera's jave runtime is crap... (the one with the coffie cup logo) As it loads it will make the browser come to the foreground, and if you try to load two or three at once, it is like browsing with a strobe light! I don't like the operating invironment either. I used to use netscape all the time, but that "server busy..." thing drove me to kill it! I have never been more happy uninstalling a peice of software in my life! The settings I was talking about were mostly the runtime thing but I just notice that after installing it my web browsing changes, I can't really put it into words, it is yuckier! After I uninstall it, it is back to normal. :) happy me. But that is the problem... Now that I am happy, I can't view the other Browsers "renderings" <-- good word!
So if someone wants to make a million dollars... make this program.

  • I have once heard a paid online service that claimed to take screenshots of customers' sites as rendered by different browsers to let them see how their site looks like on different browsers without installing other browsers and/or operating systems.

But I forgot the URL, and also, from my poor old memory, it ain't cheap.

  • I can find one site which takes screenshots of your site as rendered on different browsers that I mentioned in my last post:

    http://www.netmechanic.com/browser-index.htm

Again, it ain't cheap. I'd rather install the browsers on my machine.

  • I don't want to install Netscape ever again and Opera messes up my settings

I always keep the 4 most popular browsers on my system and it causes me no grief. What "settings" does it "mess up"?

  • Seriously! No one has ever thought of making somthing like this? I would have thought that there would be at least one! Well, if someone makes a ton of money on this idea, I want 2% at least. (and I don't mean the milk!)

  • HTMLkit will display a side-by-side preview of IE and Gecko rendering.
