Wanted - successful US offline Direct response products/companies for licencing.

  • I want to obtain an exclusive UK licence to a successful US direct response/Tele marketing business or their products. (Licence but not franchises). I have a small telephone sales company that services UK clients and sells telecoms products but the barriers to entry are low, competition is increasing and profit margins decreasing so I m looking for successful US Direct Response products (preferably unique or patented/ed high ticket items ($1000 +)to sell by phone or mailing piece and phone follow up sale. Ideally this company would not be marketing in the UK offline or online and would be a smallish company (turnover $500,000 to $10,000,000). Would also like case studies of companies/products that have been sold this way successfully. My problem is I do not know how to find or contact such US companies that work this way or what is on offer? Products can be B2B or to consumers. Thanks Matt.


  • Hi keystroke Thanks for looking at my question, I think with a 2 step sales approach one can sell items over $1000 although this is normally done by mail order, TV advertising and internet selling. One sells a customer something cheap then upgrades them to a more expensive option or sells them something different (A back end product) that is more expensive. I was thinking along the lines of business courses, finance courses etc but I'm not sure what is out there and will consider anything. One can always sell insurance, mortgages, holidays etc but there is a lot of competition as the products are not unique or have no Unique Selling Point. What were you thinking of, do you have examples of successful companies that sell products under $100 by telephone? Willing to look at anything. Thanks.


  • Hello mattbiz, The difficulty lies in you requesting an item that costs more than $1,000. I can't even imagine one product that would be telemarketed that would cost so much. Do you have ideas of what types of products this could be? Most successful telemarketing lies in getting many people to buy something "cheap"-- almost always sub-$100-- that they usually don't need. --keystroke-ga
