  • Anyone here catch the new series "Life On Mars"? It's pretty good! Although I don't know why the main character would want to leave that era...?
Anyways they Play "Life On Mars" by David Bowie in the opening sequence, giving the show its namesake, and so far included a reference to Peter, Paul and Mary, Bob Dylan, and have played Baba O'Riley by The Who and Signs by Five Man Electrical band (I think)

  • Yay!
Sounds cool. Although I've never seen the show.
    I'll look out for it.

  • It looked pretty cheesy and lame. There probably won't be a second season.

  • there's two series of life on mars.
then a follow-up with a woman lead, set in the 80s, called ashes to ashes

    brilliant stuff

  • I watched the original British version of the series. I found it rather interesting and thought-provoking. And yeah, it has a lot of great music in it too.

  • It's an old series. Is it the original UK series or the lesser US one you are watching?

Watch the original. The original Gene Hunt is GOD!!!

And in Series 1 Episode Episode 4 there is an awesome interaction with Mark Bolan.

  • ARGH...how did I manage to miss it? I'll have to tune in next week or watch the episode online.

And manage to find the British version online, too. I've been meaning to watch that for years.

  • never seen it yet. As a 17 year old in 1973 I willing find out if they got it right
