The Red Head at YYZ MLL

  • I have seen a few posts referring to a surly red head at the MLL in YYZ and I have finally made her aquantance. No, she does not look happy. Not at all. It was hard to hold back the laughs though.

  • This is hilarious... now I really want to do it! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif You guys know that the more we talk about her, the harder it will be to hold back our laughs next time we see her!! It's just like seeing Lise on destina.ca!

Maybe someone could print this thread and show it to her next time.

  • I will be thru the MLL on Friday am, on my way to ATL.Is there anything I can do to help?I do not have a lot of time as I am connecting.
Perhaps we can shuffle her off to Buffalo,
and the airline of FlyerAl. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

  • YYZ Transboarder would be my guess... I believe I have run into such a woman there. Am I correct?

  • I agree with you Empress and reading other peoples comments brings enough pleasure.

Can you imagine how hard it will be for anyone whom has read this thread to see her next time? Yes, she could well continue in her brooding ways but I will not be able to hold back my laughter upon the next encounter.

In fact, people don't need FT Tags on their bags to identify them to another member. I am just going to sit at the front desk and when I see someone giggling away while she looks at the boarding pass, I will be able to introduce myself.

  • Well, I'll be transitting YYZ on my way to ORD in a week and a half, and you just know I'm the guy to light a fire.

  • Actually, a real challenge would be to see who could get her to smile.

Great idea! Where should we ship her! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

  • Well, she never growled at me. A smile? Not quite, but better than a kick in the head -

  • Absotively - posilutely! Just a good chuckle - after all she has never brought us any happiness ... and with all due respect ... do we really think telling AC about her is going to make a tid of difference? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

  • I think most of us were just having a bit of fun joking. None of us were really going to do any of the stuff we've said.

Why not? It'll be fun! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

  • Oh ya - on the way to the USA you will have the pleasure of her sour puss -- in the 1.5 years I have frequented the lounge on a regular basis - she has never (NEVER) been happy!

  • Can't believe you posted this as I had an encounter with her this morning and was about to post something myself.

She is unmistakable - flowing red tresses and HUGE (I mean gargantuan) red rimmed glasses.

She is a real 'piece of work' as they say in the classics. I have been using that lounge (yes, the transborder one) regularly for the last 5 years and have NOT ONCE seen her smile, behave in a welcoming manner or in any way assume the demeanor of a graceful host.

I think she sees herself as a gatekeeper to her own personal domain. She is the absolute antithesis of what Air Canada should have at the desk at that lounge.

This morning I asked her to take care of a small routine detail for me for me and she looked at me as if I was nuts. It was a perfectly normal and everyday function that she completely botched. I did not say a word to antagonise her (in fact kept my mouth shut!) but the mean-spirited way in which she conducted herself was a disgrace.

It matters not if you a SE (which I am), E, or whatever ... it's the same crappy look.

Air Canada ... c'mon, please do something!

    I'd buy a ticket.

  • That's really funny... maybe I should ask her for some upgrades from L class next time just to tick her off. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

    ROFL!

  • This is turning into a exciting series. Tune in next week and see if xyz incurrs the wrath of the evil gatekeeper. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

  • I think we just crossed the line between humor and bad taste. Just my two cents.

While I can sympathize with those who have "suffered", the constructive thing to do is to write letters to AC with specific details about your complaints with respect to attitude and service.

I'd be willing to take an AC transborder flight for the sole purpose of partaking in this fun. If anyone can cause someone to have a nervous breakdown, it's me http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

  • Maybe all the FTers going through the MLL grinning ear to ear thinking about this thread will put a smile on her.

Smiles are often contagious even to the most dour sourpusses.

  • They should fire her. But I guess they can't because of the union thing. Maybe they could put her in cargo or something?

As long as you do not start out by telling her "c'mon baby light my fire!" http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

  • Empress:

I kid you not ... you have to experience this to believe it! One look and you'll realize she is not one to toy with !!!!

But I will say I'd love to see it happen! Perhaps next time you're in YYZ we can set something up! I'm sure we could sell tickets.

  • Which MLL does she usually work?

  • LOL! Well if you want to see her "flame-out"
    ... enjoy! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

  • If no one writes, then AC won't be inclined to change anything.

In my experience, writing to AC does have an effect, even if you don't get everything you want.
