Some questions regarding being skinny...?

  • Okay:
    I am really super skinny right now (I am 5' and 2 1/2" and I weigh about 85 lbs.) I have some questions:

    How do I get fatter without being unhealthy? How long would it take to be fatter?

    If I am skinny now, will I grow up to be thick? My aunt was like that, but my cousin stayed skinny. My parents are average.

    I actually eat normally (more than 2000 calories a day), but I don't do sports, although I do some exercises. Do you know anyone with the same dilemma?


  • You left out something very important:

    Are you a man or woman? How old are you?

    You're absolutely tiny and need to eat more. Eat anything and everything you can find.

    You will probably start putting pounds, as your metabolism starts to slow down, but you need some weight right now.


  • drink ensure. it is a drink that can make you gain and maintain a healthy weight.


  • Eat a big meal before you go to bed each night. food eaten later at night gains pounds faster.

    To stay healthy just make sure you exercise consistently. the same amount everyday. Also try to make sure you are eating enough servings from all the different food groups.

    Also being small makes you at higher risk for some illnesses. Get tested and make sure you don't have an immune disorder.


  • i used to be like that. you will fill out more, but will probably not be fat. i used to buy the ensure health shakes(the vanilla ones that the old people drink in the pharmacy section of walmart) and i would put them in my milkshake instead of putting milk and. it tasted pretty good and helped me get a little bigger. they are also healthy for you. there are weight gaining ones as well but im sure you wont need it, just the nomal vanilla ones are good enough because your putting in a milkshake. they taste gross by themselves


  • im that same weight and height as you im perfectly healthy. we just have a really high metabolism. there isn't much you can do about. Just keep eating your 2000 calories and you'll be fine. A person's weight evens out as they get older.

    but i thought about all the drinks to make me gain weight but
    tbh theres nothing ronge with being skinny you will get fatter within time

  • you might have a fast metabolisum or you might have a parasite worm or tape worm anyway try eating a lot of ham and eggs bacon drink whole milk and eat healthy stuff though so you don't put the weight on the wrong way


  • Hi. I can empathize with you. I am around 5'0 and 65. I incessantly eat all the time, but it's really challenging to gain weight due to my fast metabolism. I would suggest eating lots of pasta, it's the only thing I can gain weight on. My mom makes a dish simple pasta, with chicken, and tomatoes that is healthy too. Also, Cinnabuns are what I eat in my attempts to gain.


  • I had a similar problem when I was younger. I went to a nutritionist and she advised me to take 2 bottles of Boost Plus per day and eat wholesome and nutritious foods. Desert is also permitted.
