Site Review

  • Hello,
I still have a lot to still add to this site, but it works as it is. I would just like some reviews of it.

    The url: http://sacredfalls.shim.net

    Thank you!

  • Reread my above post, that IS Netscape (ver.6)

  • The centered drop down menus in the center overlay the text at the top center of the page.

I recommend to everyone that you download a copy of IE, Netscape, Mozilla, and Opera (there are others) and at the very least view your site with these 4 major browsers.

If you want a real suprise, find a copy of IE 5.5 and use that.

  • Okay, will someone check to see how it looks in Netscape now please?

  • There's a period there at the end of the address that keeps it from displaying. Let's try this one, with no punctuation. :)

  • Very nice! The color scheme is excellent, very professional. I think it would be worth it to have your site appraised. I like the right click menu as well, and how it serves a good purpose (site options) rather then an annoying popup alert, though that should be mentioned in your body text.

There is no good without bad, unfortunately, so use this to improve your site further (like its already not good enough)

-The two enter links on your splash page point to the same page. I was confused when I seen this, and had to hover my mouse over the links just to see if they pointed to different pages.

-The picture fade-in effect is useless and way too long.

-I got an error with the nav bar when I entered the page for the first time, it seemed to have a large amount of bottom padding that interfered with the text, havent been able to reproduce it.

Otherwise, great job! Keep up the good work. On a more personal note, its nice to see another native web dev. on these boards.

  • Ouch, he's right.

This is what it looks like in Netscape 6, at an 1152x864 screen resolution.

  • Ewww, that doesn't look good at all.

Jeepers, now I'll have to go look at my code again and see what the fix is. Thank you very much. (And that's not sarcastic either :)

  • Error!
The account sacredfalls was not found!
Use your browser's back button if you wish to try again.

  • Yes, but I was playing around with the code and was wondering if it what I did fixed it....but I guess not considering somehow I have managed to add a tan border across the top of my page. And I reset everything to the way I had it, and it's still not fixed. Hmmm....
