  • Sunday (Jan. 5) night's season premiere of HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" will launch two storylines that will play out over the next three months. In one, Mel Brooks (playing himself) will see Larry (Larry David) perform at a karaoke bar and for reasons known only to himself offer him the lead in the Broadway hit "The Producers."
This means will that the Los Angeles-based comedy will take a trip to Manhattan and eagle-eyed fans should be on the lookout for a Jerry Seinfeld cameo.

David co-created the comedian's popular '90s NBC sitcom and Seinfeld's walk-on role spontaneously happened when he dropped by the set to visit one day.

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" premieres Sunday, Jan. 5 at 9:30 p.m. ET on HBO.

  • I was under the impression that it was the L.A. run of "The Producers" and not the actual Broadway production....hmm, strange.

Oddly enough the Broadway, and L.A> production of the Producers starred Jason Alexander (aka George Costanza from Seinfeld.)

    Only in L.A., not Broadway.

So who played in the Broadway production?

  • Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane.....Steven Weber (from David's Sour Grapes) and a bunch of unknowns

  • going great so far. Ben Stiller as a cast member this season is a plus....he definately suits the show. Only because he's actually playing "Ben Stiller" and not some charcter doing the "Ben Stiller" schtick. There's something about that that makes it that much more funnier

  • Cant wait...
