P90X & Atkins, can you mix?

  • Im 21 years old, 4ft9, and i weigh 80kgs. I dont exercise, i dont have any motivation at all but im determined to change my life. I WANT to be BUFF!! lol. I dont want to feel mentally down in the dumps anymore and i want to be confident. So my question is considering that my current exercise and diet routine is non existent and i start doing P90X and Atkins do u think it will be too much of a strain on me? is it healthy to mix the two together? any other info would be great. Also should i do morning routine or night time?


  • Stay away from the Atkins diet if your doing the P90X. I would just stick with the P90X if you want to get in shape and build some muscle. P90X is a hard core workout and you need the carbs in your system so you can go that extra mile in your workouts. Don't forget to take in lots of protein especially after workouts. Your body craves it and it helps build muscle and size.


  • Listen to Tony...you should follow the eating guide..if you dn't eat enough you'll crash..been there..doging it through those workouts is not fun!


  • Eat plenty of green vegetables. They are low in calories and high in nutrition. Also lift weights in circuit fashion to get a cardio workout plus stimulate your lean body tissue and speed up your metabolism. Here are some free workout videos and other tips to lose weight fast..

  • Atkins???!!! oh god. If you want to put the weight of the world on your kidneys, go right ahead.

    Why not try a healthy diet that consist mainly of fresh produce(fruit/veg), beans,nuts,and very small amounts of meat and dairy. If you want muscle you need to lift weights and do a physical activity like ride a bike.

    It's always good to eat before you excercise. After eating healthy foods, you should feel satisfied and fueled up, not sluggish and tired.
