  • But I think thats ridiculous. I tell her ALL the girls at school wear makeup but I get the standard if everyone was jumping off a cliff would you do it speech. I just want to feel good about myself and I don't think there is anything wrong with it. She says I'm too young, but I'm 14. How can I convinve her or should I just put it on at at school and wash it off before I leave?

  • You're 14, you're at an age where it's pretty vital for you to start expressing yourself. I don't think you should rebel against your parents, but you need to tell your mom that it's not because every girl does it, but its because every girl gets to express themselves. If you want to be a little crazy, put it on & when leaving, she says to wash it off simply say "No. I don't have time." if she says to wash it off say "No, I want to wear it. I just won't go to school." I doubt she'll say fine to that. Unless, above all of this, you're applying it all wrong & wearing way too much. Establish boundaries with her & try your very best to follow them, she's look out for your best interest after all.

  • um i don't think it matters if you wear make up or not..since you don't wear any now you must look fine or your mom would probably let you. there's a lot of seniors that still don't wear make up and believe me it saves you a bunch of money!!

  • Probably your mom is scared you are growing up too fast.

If you ask to have your whole face made up, you'll scare her off and it might be even longer before you get to wear it! Start with something small, like a clear lip gloss, that she'll approve of and then work your way up. Besides, less is usually more for make up anyhow.

When I was your age, my aunt bought my sister and I make up kits for Christmas... maybe drop some hints to more modern thinking relatives?

    Good luck!

  • Sounds like me when I was your age. My Mother wouldn't let me BECAUSE all the other girls were wearing it. They were wearing it badly, thick pancake type makeup and lots of smeared runny eyeliner. Finally what I did was prove to my Mom that I wouldn't overdo it. She let me buy some that I could wear around the house on weekends, it started at first with a little bit of mascara and then a little bit of powder. Slowly, she would allow me to add things like blush and lipstick once I showed her I wasn't going to look like a painted clown. You probably won't believe me, but young skin doesn't -need- all that extra crap. Go bare skinned while your face is still young and fresh!

  • Defiantly do not put it on at school then take it off. That's a big no no. Sit down and have a talk with her. Ask her if you can just wear a little. Show her what it would look like. Maybe just like mascara and eyeshadow. Defiantly do not wear to much. It makes girls look so fake. If she saws no just wear neutral tones so she can not tell.

  • okkk.... sooo here it is. If you really really really have to wear it then i would go with what you said "put it on at school and wash it off before you leave" but.... that would be lying and you don't want to do that now do you? LOL :-P anyways. It will save you alot of money. And i bet you look pretty without makeup anyways. There are a lot of girls at my school that don't were makeup and they look.... well to put it simply....HOT..... but those are your choices. I would advise you to just dont were makeup until your mom lets you so you dont have to lie and I dont think you really need to were it now because almost every girl looks good with or without makeup. Any ways people should like you for who you are. NOT what you look like or what you have. Trust me. The really good part is you can look good without make up and by doing this you are also saving up your money for something you actually really want to get. So it's like a double dooze.

  • Maybe you can get her to compromise and she will let you wear like mascara and some lip gloss. Let her get use to that then slowly add the other stuff.
