Obama rags on Bush's tax cuts as only being "for a few" but I made 40k and still got a check. How is that?

  • If the tax cuts were only for the rich then why did I (who is certainly not rich) benefit?

  • Bush's tax cuts will be repealed once Obama gets into office. That is how he will raise taxes without raising your taxes!!! Say goodbye to the earned income tax credit and the likes...But others are correct this had nothing to do with the stimulus check you received which all the Dems said was such a bad idea and now want to send out another one...Must of been really bad!!


    ADD** To those who say you dont get any where near what rich people get, they to are right but Rich people pay a greater amount of tax then me or you!! It is all relative!


  • Politicians can say anything they want. Bill Clinton promised to cut taxes but when in office, raised them even on the middle class.

  • they did that so they could ask for more back from you for the "bailout" that they saw coming! It was an attempt to make us think they were helping us when all they really wanted was us to "Bail them out"!


  • The Dems try to confuse people. They say things like"rich" people get more back than you. Well, that's because they pay in more. If you make $40,000 and get 1% back that would be $400. If a guy who makes $250,000 gets 1% back, he'll get $2,500. Both are fair but they will keep saying how he got back so much more than you. He should!

  • $40K isn't that much - it certainly isn't rich. That was a stimulus check - not the tax cut Bush made early in his first term.

    Sounds to me like you may be talking about he stimulus check. If that is the case, you can expect another check, since the Bush administration is realizing the wisdom of Obama's assertion from the start that the original amounts were inadequate.

    You may not be affected, but the rich will get affected and by then, the heatlh insurance preimum will get higher because companies have to cover their loss from taxes,

    And worst thing is you may lose your job due to lay off, job cut.

    they can cut your position to make up the taxes they have to pay.

    That is the way capatialism functions.. so if you want a secure job, don't vote Obama


  • Oh because if Senator Obama opens his mouth, it's a lie. His tax proposals are irresponsible and dangerous. It affects small businesses that make over $250,000. The vast majority of small businesses make over $250,000. Millions will lose thier jobs.
