  • i want to get the norcal star on my inner wrist but my boyfriend thinks it's the stupidest thing ever (gr!) what do you think? too cliche? i want SOMETHING on my wrist.. i was thinking this butterfly http://austrianaddiction.rationalmind.ne...
either on my wrist or ankle.. i wanted it on my neck but my boyfriend hates that too.. what a part pooper lol. soo what do you think.. norcal star on my wrist too dumb? what about the butterfly?

  • my opinion is if you are going to get a tattoo where it cant be seen, then you have NO business getting tattoos.....
ive never heard of a norcal star before. maybe i should google it. but if you are talking about nautical stars....they are nice...but not so original. the butterfly...um, yeah....not a very nice design. im not trying to HATE or whatever.....but you asked for our opinions and we are giving them to you.
give your boyfriend a big hug for trying to keep you from doing something you'll regret later. i always ask for my boyfriends opinion on ideas i have for tattoos, NOT because he's my boyfriend, but because he's an artist.....(he's designing my chest piece)

  • The butterfly is a lot more feminine. However I don't think you should get any tattoo on your body that is visible to employers. I got my 1st tattoo at 14 (by a professional)...I had the hook up ;) I am about to be 26 now and I am not the same person that I was then. I regret getting it on my ankle because it doesn't look to cute with a business suit.

What I am trying to say is you may realize one day that a potential employer may look you over for a tattoo on your wrist. Good Luck

  • ^^ a wrist tattoo can be easily covered up by a watch, bracelets or long sleeve shirt so i doubt employment will be a concern.

  • Do you maybe mean NAUTICAL star? That or a butterfly, yeah. Totally cliche. Get something that's special and actually means something to you. Don't just get a tattoo for the sake of getting a tattoo.

  • Be aware that wrist tattoos hurt badly, and they are terribly hard to cover up.

I probably wouldn't get a star tattoo, they are incredibly cliche and---however, if you are interested in astronomy then go for it.

Don't get it on your neck or hands, or anywhere that can be seen when fully clothed. Your boyfriend doesn't want to hurt your feelings, he is trying to prevent you from doing something that you can't undo.

Look into back tattoos, or shoulder.

  • I love the star.. i was thinking of that but got a ladybug on my foot instead...just because i LOVE ladybugs!!

  • Its your body, I say do what you want! The norcal star on your wrist would be cool and the butterfly would be cute.

  • since when was your neck/wrist/ankel attatched to your boyyfreinds body?

  • Don't get a tat anywhere that u can't cover up. If you can't cover it up don't get something you'll have to explain, regret or be ashamed of later. You could get a UV tattoo if you must have the norcal star in an obvious place, just make sure that you research the parlor & make sure they're using skin safe UV ink. It'll only show up under black lights. Another option is red ink, it's the easiest to cover up later.

  • that butterflies ugly.
