No Date with Word 2000

  • Somehow I have managed to do a really stupid thing. Unfortunately, I know neither what nor how I did it!

On Word 2000 (using Win XP SP2), the Insert/Date and Time function no longer works properly. If the “Update Automatically” box is checked, then I get “{TIME @ “M/d/yyyy”7/17/2005” for a date. If it is unchecked, then I get the expected “7/17/2005”. Also, my Insert/Page Number returns “{PAGE }” instead of a number.

I have reinstalled Word 2000, deleted the Word registry and Word’s Normal.dot template, all to no avail. This is a small annoyance, but I sincerely hope you can help.

    Thank you

    Hal
