  • AC*SE, you beat me to the post about the airport code for Newfoundland's St. John's. The code comes from the original name of the airport site, Torbay: YYT. This is one of the first things one learns when going to work in airline res. The logical question is: Well, why didn't Toronto get YYT if Calgary got YYC? The anser is that St. John's got there first. Yeah, makes no sense, but when not much does in this crazy airline world.
