Cant See Music Thumbnails Since Latest Install Today

    I have just updated to the latest XBMC (XBMC-SVN_2007-04-20_rev8582-T3CH-MIDI)

    Up untill now ALL my Thumbnails have stayed. But this time I have lost ALL my music ones. Film one are fine.

    I have restored the backup of the last install I had and they are back.

    I kept the USERDATA folder intact but nothing.

    I really dont want to collect all the images again.

    Any Help with getting the thumbnaild working with the latest build Appriciated.

  • embedded art or folder.jpg is best, yes.

    The thumbs are unlikely to change now that they're in their current setup at least.

    You can also download them all using XBMC (scan, go to library, and query info for all albums) but it'll only cache them locally - it won't write them as folder.jpg.

    We should get someone to write a python script that takes the cached folder thumbs and copies them as folder.jpg.

    In fact, I'm pretty sure someone did have a python script available that generated thumb CRC's - I remember a conversation about it in #xbmc on freenode - perhaps you could request it in the python requests forum?

  • you must rebuild your music database, a lot of changes have been made to how it works and the old one is not compatible with the new one. The Thunbnails are now cached in a different manner to get around the 4096 item limit in the FATX file system. you will have to "collect" your images again, since evidently you dont' have folder.jpg or embedded art (even though both of these methods are specifically advised in the manual...)

    So basicly I will need to do a fresh install?

    Confused me as the Video files are intact.

    I will collect the thumbnail again. It's a small price to pay for a constantly evolving and great application. At least I can Clean up all the folders. In future I will use embeded art.
